Customer Service Specialist - Pain Management (Remote)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Customer Service Specialist - Pain Management to join our team at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. As a key member of our patient access team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, coordinating patient scheduling, registration, and insurance verification, as well as ensuring seamless communication with patients, families, and healthcare providers. This is a full-time remote position with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide complete and accurate patient scheduling, registration, and insurance verification
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers
  • Manage inbound and outbound calls, respond to patient inquiries, and resolve concerns in a professional manner
  • Verify patient information, coverage, and hospital account details
  • Perform electronic and manual verification of insurance coverage and understand how to read and accurately apply electronic insurance responses
  • Prepare and release records or orders in the e-Health record
  • Complete documentation for compliance and regulatory needs

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • 1 year of clerical, customer service, or administrative support experience in a highly customer-oriented organization
  • 1 year of experience with basic keyboarding, personal computer use, and other office setting equipment
  • Preferred experience with registration, point of service collection, insurance validation, and order release processes
  • Previous Epic or equivalent Electronic Medical Record experience preferred
