Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic Graphic Design Instructor to join our team at Los Angeles Valley College (LAVC). As a full-time, probationary (tenure-track) instructor, you will have the opportunity to teach Graphic Design courses, develop curricula, and contribute to the growth and success of our students. LAVC is committed to creating a learning-centered environment that supports students in fulfilling their educational goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Graphic Design courses, including planning, developing, and implementing course curricula
  • Hold regular office hours and contribute to the development and assessment of student learning outcomes
  • Participate in department and campus committees and activities
  • Perform other academic duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience in Graphic Design or related field
  • Associate's degree and six years of professional experience in Graphic Design or related field
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
  • Earned master's degree or higher in Graphic Design and/or a Studio Art discipline (desirable)
  • Experience in art-oriented motion graphics, web design, and animation (desirable)
