ServiceNow Developer - Software Asset Management (Remote)

Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States. We are seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow Developer with strong hands-on experience in implementing, upgrading, and customizing ServiceNow leveraging industry best practices for the Software Asset Management team. Responsible for designing, developing, and testing technical solutions through deployment within the ServiceNow landscape. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of ServiceNow development practices, Software Asset Management, a solid grasp of ITIL processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and deliver scalable solutions on the ServiceNow platform

Responsibilities

In this role, you'll be responsible for the following:

  • Be the technical expert in how to best support IT by configuring ITAM processes using ServiceNow best practices focused on configuration vs. customization
  • Perform technical efforts in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of ServiceNow focusing on the ITAM modules, Service Catalog, and Request Management.
  • Support the engagements efforts for ITAM specific areas, which include Software

Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM) implementations.

  • Build out Software Request Process, Software Distribution, and Software Catalog.
  • Customize and configure forms, workflows, business rules, UI policies/actions, client scripts, and notifications in line with business requirements
  • Develop Flow Designer flows, Scripted REST APIs, Integration Hub spokes, and other automation routines
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather and understand functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Collaborate with architects and other developers, act as a liaison between teams, to ensure alignment with platform best practices and performance optimization
  • Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality and maintainability of solutions
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews), draft user stories, business requirements, acceptance criteria, create test plans, and contribute to sprint deliverables
  • Support platform upgrades and enhancements, ensuring minimal impact on existing functionalities
  • Maintain proper documentation including design specs, user guides, and technical manuals
  • Advise process owners in their efforts to take advantage of the ServiceNow ITAM Solution's standard capabilities in their efforts to improve their IT processes.
  • Keep up with the latest ServiceNow releases and advises of upcoming changes or new features.
  • Lead design workshops focused on ServiceNow Platform and ITAM Solution technology
  • Create change requests and adhere to all change management delivery processes
  • Perform knowledge transfer, obtain approvals, and support delivery
  • Prepare all deliverables focused on the technology and responsible for quality of configured/developed solution
  • Responsible for presenting and demoing solutions prior to deployment
  • Juggle multiple and complex projects/initiatives
  • Promoting continuous improvement practices for delivery/engagement materials
  • Available for on call support to technical and project teams during upgrades

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Analytics, Modeling or Reporting OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Analytics, Modeling or Reporting The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Current certifications with ServiceNow:
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - IT Service Management
  • ServiceNow Certified Software Asset Manager
  • ServiceNow Certified Hardware Asset Manager
  • ServiceNow Administrator
  • At least 5 years of hands-on development experience on the ServiceNow Platform.
  • Strong experience with ServiceNow ITSM suite and implementation/customization of at least 2-3 core ITAM/ITSM modules
  • Proficient in JavaScript, Glide APIs, and ServiceNow development frameworks
  • Expertise in Flow Designer, Workflow, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, as well as Reporting, Dashboards, and Performance Analytics
  • Proficiency in developing Workspaces and Service Portal widgets in ServiceNow
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow data structures, table relationships, and ACLs; particularly for the SAM Pro Module
  • Working knowledge of Service Catalogs, Record Producers, and Request Workflows
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with third-party systems using REST/SOAP, MID Server, or Integration Hub
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and debug complex scripting
  • Experience with CMDB configuration and maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and consult (providing options with pros, cons and risks) in an IT environment, while providing thought leadership to IT sponsors/stakeholders in solving business process and/or technical problems
  • Experience with Web Technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services, Bootstrap, CSS, middleware, LDAP, SSO, etc.) and working with SaaS technologies
  • Strong understanding with leading IT and related systems and tools such as Office 365, Teams, Workday, Twilio, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, customer-centric attitude, ability to deal with cultural diversity
  • Proven team player and team builder

Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
