About the position The Maintenance Tech at Children's Mercy Hospital is responsible for ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients, families, and staff by operating, inspecting, and maintaining various hospital systems, including HVAC and medical gas systems. This role requires adherence to safety codes and continuous quality improvement efforts, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the hospital's engineering operations. The position is a night shift role, working from Tuesday to Saturday, and is eligible for shift differential pay. Responsibilities  Effectively and efficiently operate and maintain all equipment and systems for which the Engineering Department is responsible. ,  Perform all work to ensure compliance with City, State, Federal, OSHA, NFPA, and JCAHO codes and requirements. ,  Evaluate building needs and implement energy-efficient practices to minimize costs. Requirements  High School diploma or equivalent. ,  3-5 years' experience in maintenance, HVAC, or building maintenance, preferably in a hospital setting. ,  OSHA certification preferred.
