Job Overview The Lower School Associate Teacher is essential in developing a stimulating and age-appropriate educational environment. Collaborating with the Lead Teacher, this role involves assisting in the execution of a curriculum that embodies our institution’s mission and vision, ensuring that each student flourishes in a nurturing atmosphere. Key Responsibilities • Assist in organizing and delivering educational programs tailored to developmental needs. • Collaborate in planning and implementing a differentiated curriculum for Lower School learners. • Facilitate student engagement through the Responsive Classroom model, including conducting morning meetings and guiding social interactions. • Foster a supportive and caring classroom environment that encourages positive engagement and effective learning. • Supervise instruction and authentic assessments while managing classroom dynamics. • Maintain communication with parents, students, and colleagues through the online platform ‘Seesaw’. • Participate in school functions and contribute to various school programs and activities as assigned, recognizing that responsibilities may extend beyond regular hours. • Assume the Lead Teacher’s responsibilities during short-term absences when required. • Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities provided by the school. Required Skills • Passion for working with young children and an understanding of their developmental requirements. • Strong classroom management abilities in diverse learning settings. • Demonstrated energy, empathy, flexibility, and the capacity for effective collaboration with colleagues. • Proficiency in basic technology skills, including familiarity with iPad and iPhone applications, Google Suite, and photo editing tools. • Excellent organizational and communication skills. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate the campus throughout the day. Qualifications • A bachelor’s degree is required. • A minimum of three years of experience working with young children is preferred.
