Job title: Hmi Engineer in Louisville, KY at Actalent Company: Actalent Job description: Job Title: HMI EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced HMI Engineer to join our team and take charge of designing, developing, and commissioning conveyor HMI/SCADA systems. With a significant number of UPS controls system upgrades scheduled over the next two years, we are expanding our team to meet the rising demand for projects. The HMI Engineer will oversee the entire project lifecycle, from concept development to programming, FAT, on-site commissioning, and ongoing support. This role involves managing multiple projects and collaborating with various engineering disciplines, project management, controls engineering teams, electrical engineering teams, and customer groups.Responsibilities
  • Design, modify, develop, write, and implement HMI/SCADA/GDU applications, including Indusoft and Wonderware.
  • Support and/or install software applications, operating systems, computer, and networking equipment.
  • Participate in the testing process through test review, analysis, execution, witnessing, and certification of software.
  • Participate in site commissioning activities.
  • Adhere to standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Design, plan, and coordinate work teams.
  • Provide technical support to project team members.
  • Lead and direct the work of others.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with Aveva Edge (formerly Indusoft) or Ignition.
  • HMI/SCADA software experience (Factory Talk, FT Optix).
  • Proficiency in GUI/HMI programming.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Material Handling or Parcel experience.
  • Experience with UPS projects.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming, Python, VBScript, Rockwell, and material-handling equipment.
