Airbnb's various functions embody the company's innovative spirit and our fast-moving team is committed to leading as a 21st century company. • *Role** We are looking for a Principal to lead core financial operations for Airbnb’s Marketing and Design organizations: operating expenses and headcount management, budget forecasting and reporting, finance process improvement, and controllership. The ideal candidate has deep experience in these areas and can collaborate with business teams, accounting, procurement, and strategy/analytics teams to build a world class FP&A function. This person will report to the Director of Finance and Analytics for Marketing & Guest and will have management responsibilities. This role is high visibility with regular interaction with senior finance and business leadership. • *Responsibilities:** - Own core finance/budget processes for headcount, operating expenses, and contingent workers - Own weekly, monthly, and quarterly budget and headcount reporting to finance and business executives, in partnership with finance, business, and employee experience teams - Influence business partner decisions through ad hoc analytics, investment tradeoff frameworks. Identify and implement the right reporting and budget metrics to help inform strategic discussions. - Optimize existing close/forecast processes to improve efficiency and accuracy - Work with Marketing on the planning and execution of Media purchases for brand campaigns - Work with creative teams to manage non-working media budgets and ensure budget accuracy and spend efficiency - Build world-class process around purchase orders, intake and approvals for cross-functional budget requests, and overall budget controls • *Required Qualifications:** - 10+ years of finance experience with increasing responsibility in managing large operating expense and headcount budgets - Experience with directly overseeing marketing budgets highly desired; experience with creative/non-working media budgeting preferred - Direct management experience highly desired - Solid understanding of GAAP - Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing excellent processes in a fast-paced environment - Proactive and creative problem solver with tremendous intellectual horsepower - Exceptional ability to effectively collaborate with and influence business partners, including excellent communication skills (written and verbal) - Experience with Workday and Tableau a plus The starting base pay for this role is between $155,000 and $195,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
