Production Manager/Customer Service Representative

Company Overview FCL Graphics, Inc. located in Harwood Heights, IL, is a commercial printing company with over 50 years of expertise in the printing industry. Established in 1973, FCL offers an extensive range of services, including pre-press, sheetfed-offset, web-offset, digital printing, variable printing, finishing, fulfillment, and direct mailing. Our state-of-the-art equipment includes the KM1 digital press, three Heidelberg offset web presses, and two Komori GL 640 UV/LED 6-color sheetfed presses, enabling printing on diverse media types like paper, plastics, and synthetics. Position: Production Manager/Customer Service Representative We are looking for an experienced and motivated Production Manager/Customer Service Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of job production from start to finish and be capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. A positive attitude, strong communication skills, self-motivation, trustworthy, dependable and adaptability are essential qualities.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and manage a wide variety of jobs/projects from start to finish including interpreting customer requirements, developing and managing timelines throughout the production process and ensuring quality throughout the process.
• Effectively manage communications with sales representatives, customers, outside services and internal departments.
• Responsible for ensuring job specifications are clearly communicated to all departments. Interpret customer purchase orders/instructions accurately and provide clear, detailed instructions to the manufacturing team.
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of all printing departments, including:
• Digital Department
• Prepress
• Press Room
• Bindery
• Shipping
• Mailing
• Manage jobs to estimated costs and ensure each are handled in most cost efficient manner.
• May include other duties.

Skills and Qualifications

• Must be detailed oriented and have strong organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects at one time.
• Ability to manage schedules, meet deadlines, maintain accuracy and manage costs.
• Ability to work as a team member and have a positive attitude. Must be a dependable team player.
• Familiarity with MIS systems such as iQuote/ePS and Monarch.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
• Must understand how to create layouts. Metrix software knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of press parameters, ink coverage, and press layouts and folding signatures.
• Strong mailing and variable data experience. Knowledge of postal rules and regulations.
• Minimum 5 years experience in commercial print and direct mail lettershop.
