Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain a robust, scalable data ecosystem that supports the VoC analytics workflow. This is a remote‑first position based in Bosnia & Herzegovina, offering a competitive hourly rate of $35 and a flexible work model. You will collaborate with product owners, data scientists, and agile delivery teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions that are reliable, performant, and secure.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Platform Architecture: Design and implement end‑to‑end data pipelines using Hadoop, HDFS, Spark, Hive, and Python to ingest, process, and store survey data from multiple sources.
• Model Development: Build and maintain robust data models that enable standardized metric definitions and support advanced analytics, including batch and real‑time processing.
• Collaboration: Partner closely with business analysts, product managers, and agile squads to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver incremental value.

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Hadoop ecosystem tools (Hive, HDFS, MapReduce) and Spark/PySpark.

• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, relational and NoSQL databases, and data warehousing principles.
• Demonstrated experience building scalable ETL pipelines and working with large‑volume datasets (multi‑TB scale).
