[Remote] Accounts Payable Specialist

Tria Federal is a company that delivers digital services and technology solutions to support the health and safety of veterans and civilians. They are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to perform advanced accounts payable functions, ensuring accurate processing of invoices and collaboration across departments to maintain financial integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Review, validate, and process vendor invoices in accordance with company policies and established AP procedures
  • Perform two‑way matching (PO and invoice) and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with Procurement, Project Managers, and vendors
  • Prepare and execute weekly payment runs, including ACH, check payments, ensuring proper approvals and documentation
  • Maintain accurate and complete AP records to support internal controls and audit readiness
  • Respond to vendor inquiries, research payment issues, and maintain updated vendor profiles and required documentation
  • Review and process employee expense reimbursements in accordance with company travel and expense policies
  • Support month‑end close activities, including AP accruals, aging analysis, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Assist in developing and refining AP processes to improve efficiency and strengthen internal controls
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely resolution of AP‑related issues

Skills

  • 5–7 years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, preferably within a professional services or project‑based environment
  • Strong understanding of AP workflows, internal controls, and invoice lifecycle management
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, or similar)
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while meeting deadlines
  • Experience with Unanet
  • Knowledge of vendor onboarding, 1099 processing, and year‑end AP reporting
  • Experience supporting audit activities or internal control reviews
