Senior EPC Project Manager

Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for an expereinced Project Manager who will work alongside lead engineers and program managers supporting a growing clientele of construction partners. We are currently seeking a qualified applicant to provide turnkey project management services related to electric utility engineering projects throughout the United States, with local partnering opportunities in the specified location. The Project Manager will be part of an established Project Management Office within our Power Delivery Solutions division that provides consulting services to construction partners rebuilding and expanding transmission, substation, and distribution infrastructure nationwide. Lead a team of project managers to deliver comprehensive engineering design projects for electric utility clients Take ownership of overall portfolio performance, including cost, schedule, and scope management Drive strategic initiatives within the PMO organization, focusing on process improvements and operational efficiencies Serve as the Capture Manager for large scale new business opportunities and be responsible for the preparation of major proposals, estimates, and bids documents Mentor and develop project management staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning Interface with clients and internal stakeholders to address issues, report progress, and mitigate risks across the project portfolio Manage monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable processes Identify and pursue business development opportunities to support organizational growth Ensure compliance with contract requirements and quality control standards Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including clients, project teams, subcontractors, and support personnel Identify project risks and mitigation strategies Travel locally and nationally as needed (roughly ~20-25%) What you'll bring to the table (Required Qualifications): Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance or related field required 8+ years of progressive Project Management experience in the electric power industry, electric utilities, or closely associated field Candidates must demonstrate expereince with and comprehensive understanding of electric power and infrastructure projects Direct experience working with project financials, bid proposals and cost estimates Direct Experience with portfolio management, contract management and risk mitigation Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Workfront, MS Project, P6) and MS Office Suite Strong leadership skills with a focus on portfolio management and team development Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to travel periodically as required (~20%) Candidates must be located in the United States in order to be considered. This position cannot be performed outside of the US US Citizenship required Preferred Qualifications: PMP Certification or willingness to obtain within two years Experience working with EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) Contracts Knowledge of high voltage substation and transmission engineering Previous experience working in a consulting environment for US based electric utilities Prior experience in a leadership position Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams Previous experience working in a consulting environment Experience with PowerBI and/or visualization tools At Leidos, we pride ourselves on being a trusted and technology-focused solutions provider.
