Farm Operations Manager (Remote Support)
Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Farm Operations Manager to provide remote support and oversight for agricultural operations. This role will focus on optimizing farm efficiency, implementing best practices in crop and livestock management, and leveraging technology to enhance productivity across multiple sites. You will work closely with on-site farm managers and teams, providing guidance, analysis, and strategic recommendations from a remote setting. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in modern agriculture, data analysis capabilities, and excellent communication skills to foster a collaborative and productive environment. Familiarity with precision agriculture technologies and farm management software is essential. Responsibilities: Provide remote guidance and support to on-site farm managers regarding daily operations, crop planning, and livestock management. Analyze farm data (yields, costs, resource usage) to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains. Develop and recommend best practices for planting, cultivation, pest control, harvesting, and livestock care. Oversee the implementation and utilization of farm management software and precision agriculture technologies. Assist in budgeting, resource allocation, and cost control measures for agricultural operations. Monitor environmental conditions and compliance with agricultural regulations. Facilitate knowledge sharing and training among farm teams through remote platforms. Collaborate with stakeholders to set operational goals and track progress. Research and evaluate new agricultural technologies and methodologies for potential adoption. Troubleshoot operational challenges and provide timely solutions. Prepare reports on operational performance, key metrics, and recommendations for senior management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agribusiness, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in farm management, agricultural operations, or a closely related role. Strong understanding of crop science, soil health, pest management, and/or livestock production. Proficiency with farm management software (e.g., AgLeader, Climate FieldView, Trimble Ag) and data analysis tools. Experience with precision agriculture techniques and technologies. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and effectively manage remote teams and operations. Familiarity with agricultural economics and financial management principles. A passion for sustainable and efficient agricultural practices.
