Role Description Nelson University seeks a highly qualified adjunct faculty member with a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program to begin teaching in Fall 2027. This position is within the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Community Services.

  • Teach assigned counseling and counselor education courses beginning Fall 2027.
  • Deliver instruction aligned with CACREP standards where applicable.
  • Integrate Christian faith and professional counseling identity in course engagement.
  • Facilitate applied learning, case analysis, and professional skill development.
  • Provide timely, substantive feedback to students.
  • Submit required course documentation and assessment materials.

Qualifications

  • Earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education & Supervision
  • Graduate of a CACREP-accredited program
  • Preferred: State licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor
  • Minimum 3 years teaching experience in a college or university setting
  • Documented professional counseling/clinical experience
  • Experience teaching in an online format preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds
  • Commitment to collaboration and program development

  • Personal faith consistent with Nelson University’s evangelical Christian mission
  • Active participation in a local church community; Assemblies of God affiliation preferred
