This role is part of Alcon's Sales & Sales Support function, a team that helps provide access to products across all channels in an effort to drive customer satisfaction with eye care professionals to help people see brilliantly. The Director, Vision Care Field Sales (Management Path) is primarily responsible for developing and servicing national accounts, leading the sales team, and achieving sales targets across a large country. You will build effective relationships, implement innovative selling strategies, and guide the sales function. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Develop and service national accounts, establishing and maintaining preferred vendor status, and managing the business relationship and activities with key accounts
  • Develop customer development strategies and dedicated key account management action plans for assigned accounts, including preparing and negotiating contracts
  • Lead the preparation of strategies and individual tactical plans, driving the sales operations plan to achieve agreed sales and broader performance targets
  • Define and enable implementation of innovative strategies on digital selling, remote selling, or other innovative selling methods
  • Study marketing information on retail and wholesale buying centers and analyze market situations, including competitive intelligence activities
  • Organize customer events and other programs independently or with the marketing/medical department
  • Contribute to the mapping of stakeholders, including segmentation and profiling
  • Develop an effective sales team through training and coaching, managing day-to-day operational aspects of the sales function
  • Communicate marketing information to the field sales force to finalize sales and assist in developing presentation packages, pricing structures, and new products
  • Ensure the delivery of sales targets and market share

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON: Minimum 10 years of Sales & Marketing experience, including proven success in commercial management roles. Experience in Eye Care, Medical Devices, or FMCG. Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of developing and inspiring teams. Excellent crossfunctional collaboration skills. Customercentric mindset with strong business acumen. Native or strong Spanish required, English mandatory for European collaboration. Portuguese is a plus. Based in Barcelona or Lisbon. Field based role with frequent travel.
