Mercor is seeking bilingual English–Japanese language experts to collaborate on a high-impact AI language evaluation project with a leading research partner. Freelancers will help assess the quality and naturalness of translations, with a focus on fluency, local phrasing, and cultural relevance in Japanese. ● Review English-to-Japanese translations for fluency, accuracy, and local relevance ● Flag unnatural phrasing and suggest culturally appropriate alternatives ● Assess AI-generated outputs for quality, tone, and context alignment ● Provide written feedback on nuanced linguistic errors or ambiguities ● Maintain consistency and attention to detail across multiple review tasks

● Native-level fluency in Japanese and fluent English proficiency ● Strong reading speed and comprehension in both languages ● Demonstrated experience with translation review or linguistic QA ● High attention to detail and cultural sensitivity ● Ability to work independently and meet deadlines on a flexible schedule
