Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Draft and update risk assessments and training programs in cooperation with authorized officers, employees and external authorized company
  • Organize and conduct relevant H&S trainings for employees as required, 
  • Organize and ensure medical examinations
  • Organize and ensure documentation of employees, safety inspection (testing) of work environment, work equipment, electrical installations and track it in database (Web ZNR)
  • Draft, track and update H&S documentation
  • Prescribe and ensure PPE for employees, keep records on delivery to employees
  • Report injuries at work and professional diseases to Croatian Health Insurance Fund, and track it and analysing it in TRIR system
  • Record H&S deficiencies, address it to responsible persons or solve it if they are in jurisdiction of H&S team
  • Keep records of deficiencies (Microsoft office Planner)
  • Prepare and support employees for inspection visits and third parties, such as inspectors from Ministry, auditors, vendors and external H&S specialists 
  • Support investigation of accidents to identify causes and to determine process of accident prevention
  • Conduct internal inspections and evaluation of workplace environment at least once a year
  • Cooperation with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with mandatory regulations
  • Communicate all deficiencies and non-compliance to supervisor
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and incorporate any updates in law into the health and safety policy
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout company and outside the company 
  • Be up to date with any change in Croatian legislation
  • Professional development in accordance with the law (e.g. participation in professional conferences, events or gathering) at least once a year

Skills and Competencies:

  • Mandatory Professional exam for a 2nd level occupational safety expert – state certificate
  • Qualification in occupational health and safety is preferable
  • Understand the application of all Health and Safety at Work legislation relevant to the Companies business
  • Effectively influence those at a senior level
  • Professional in approach to dealing with issues and employees
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Thorough knowledge of Croatian health and safety regulations and legislation
