Consumer Dispute Specialist I

In this role, the Consumer Dispute Specialist I will investigate consumer disputes from start to finish, ensuring compliance with FCRA guidelines and delivering a reliable, consumer-focused experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and resolve consumer disputes related to tenant screening application results with accuracy and professionalism
  • Process all dispute activities in compliance with FCRA regulations, Yardi Resident Screening guidelines, and required time frames
  • Communicate clearly with consumers to gather details, provide updates, and deliver investigation results
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all steps taken throughout the dispute resolution process

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One to two (1-2) years of experience in a legal or regulatory compliance position
  • Knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act or other consumer rights processes
  • Knowledge of credit reports and civil and criminal record terminology
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Accountability and follow-through skills
  • Ability to adjust to new processes and procedures
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional phone demeanor skills
  • Experience working as a paralegal
  • Experience using a customer relationship management (“CRM”) or sales database system
