The Health Guide serves as a trusted advisor, helping members make informed health and financial decisions while enhancing their overall healthcare experience and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to members, guiding them through their healthcare journey
  • Use customer service and motivational interviewing skills to assess member needs and provide tailored support
  • Motivate and encourage members to achieve their health goals
  • Assist members in creating and executing a healthy vision for care success
  • Provide education, referrals, concierge assistance, navigation, and guidance as needed
  • Understand clinical conditions to direct members to appropriate resources without offering formal medical advice
  • Identify and refer members to additional programs or services when necessary
  • Communicate effectively across phone, chat, email, and messaging, adapting styles to meet diverse member needs
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently
  • Listen for barriers or gaps in care and address them through appropriate interventions
  • Utilize knowledge of the healthcare system to independently support members

Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
  • Proven use of AI tools to enhance efficiency, automate processes, or improve decision-making
  • Intermediate understanding of healthcare systems and insurance
  • Experience navigating benefits in a call center environment
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with PC-based word processing and database tools (Word, Excel, Internet, Outlook, Zoom)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus
  • Access to a designated, distraction-free home office with high-speed internet
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent of 5 years' experience in health, healthcare, education, social work, or a related field
  • Interest in personalized support that values the whole person
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Flexibility, resilience, openness to new ideas, and willingness to take on new responsibilities
