Job Summary: Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Freelance Copy Editor to join our dynamic content team. This fully remote role allows you to work from anywhere while refining, polishing, and enhancing written content to meet high editorial standards. The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for grammar, punctuation, and style, ensuring all content aligns with brand voice and maintains clarity, consistency, and impact. As a Freelance Copy Editor, you will play a crucial role in shaping high-quality content that resonates with diverse audiences across multiple platforms, including websites, blogs, marketing materials, and publications. Key Responsibilities:

  • * Review and edit written content for grammar, punctuation, spelling, syntax, and clarity.
  • * Ensure all content aligns with established style guides and brand voice.
  • * Enhance readability, flow, and overall quality of content.
  • * Fact-check information and verify sources when necessary.
  • * Collaborate with writers, content creators, and project managers to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • * Provide constructive feedback to content creators to improve writing quality over time.
  • * Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • * Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • * Strong understanding of different writing styles and editorial guidelines (AP, Chicago, MLA, etc.).
  • * Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot errors or inconsistencies.
  • * Ability to provide constructive feedback to improve content quality.
  • * Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and online publishing tools is a plus.
  • * Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • * Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Experience:
  • * Proven experience as a copy editor, content editor, or similar role.
  • * Experience with freelance or remote editorial work is preferred.
  • * Portfolio showcasing edited content or writing samples is highly desirable.
  • Working Hours:
  • * Flexible working hours; fully remote and work-from-anywhere arrangement.
