Key Responsibilities

As a Financial Litigation Support Specialist, you will be responsible for the following key tasks:

  • Providing technical assistance services to Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) in the area of financial litigation, including conducting research, initiating documents for debt collection actions, and tracking debtor accounts.
  • Processing cases within the financial litigation function, including using automated systems to conduct research and analyze financial information.
  • Communicating with debtors to present options for debt payments, answer questions, explain pertinent procedures, clarify information, and work cases to resolution.
  • Preparing payment plans, which involve reviewing financial asset information submitted by debtors.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., finance, accounting, business administration) preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in data entry, financial analysis, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, including debt collection, financial asset analysis, and payment plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with debtors, AUSAs, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using automated systems, including Microsoft Office and other software applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience working in a government agency or financial institution.
  • Familiarity with financial litigation support software and systems.
  • Certification in a related field (e.g., Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA)).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and develop effective solutions.
